THE ATHERSTONE GROVE TENNIS CLUB

Atherstone Grove tennis club was founded in 1995. It is part of the Grove Sports and Social Club which is managed by trustees. Their objective is to provide sports and leisure activities to Atherstone and the surrounding villages. A member of the tennis club is on the trustee committee.

The club has two tarmac courts. They are used for members only. Non-marking trainers are worn when players are on the court.

Floodlights are available free of charge. A padlock for the floodlights is at the side of the first court. It has the same code as the gates. When in use, they are switched off by 21.45pm as a courtesy to local residents.

Weekly club sessions: 10.30 am-12 noon Sundays

7-00 pm- 10.00 pm Thursdays (seasonal)

10.30 am-12noon Wednesdays (mixed doubles)

10.30 am- 12.00noon Friday (mixed doubles)

All ages and abilities are very welcome to join the club. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly.

 

A clubhouse is adjacent to the courts. It has a bar and clubroom which is open to tennis members. In front of the clubhouse is a bowling green used by Bowling Club members. Shower and Toilet facilities are situated opposite the clubhouse.

Social activities such as quiz nights and horse racing evenings are arranged by the social club. Indoor bowls are also played in the winter. Tennis club members are welcome to attend all social events.
